Quick Answer
The KelFire DMR R/T is our house rugged terrain tire, built to sit between an all-terrain and a mud-terrain. Every size is Load Range F, 12-ply, with 18/32 inch of tread and an 80 psi max, and it carries a 45,000-mile treadwear warranty. It comes in six sizes, all 20 inch and up. One thing to know before you buy: it is not 3PMSF severe snow rated, so if you need a winter-certified tire, this is not it.
We build this one ourselves, which means we can tell you exactly what is in it and exactly who it is wrong for. That second part matters more. A house brand tire with nothing but good things written about it is not information, it is an ad. So here are the actual numbers, the sizes, the warranty, and the one spec that should send some people to a different tire.
KelFire DMR R/T Full Specifications
Same construction across the whole lineup, which makes this simple. There is no light-duty version hiding in the size list.
| Spec | Value |
|---|---|
| Category | Rugged terrain, hybrid between all-terrain and mud-terrain |
| Load range | F, every size |
| Ply rating | 12-ply, every size |
| Tread depth | 18/32 inch |
| Max inflation | 80 psi |
| Speed rating | Q, rated to 99 mph |
| Treadwear warranty | 45,000 miles |
| Severe snow rating | Not 3PMSF certified |
| UTQG | Not rated, which is normal for an LT-metric light truck tire |
An 18/32 inch tread depth puts this in genuinely aggressive territory. Most all-terrains land in the low teens. Load Range F at 12-ply is heavy duty construction, which is why the speed rating is Q rather than something higher. That is a deliberate trade, not a shortcoming: you get sidewall strength and puncture resistance, and you give up highway speed rating you were never going to use in a truck.
Available Sizes
Six sizes, all 20 inch and larger. Load index and speed rating included, because those are the numbers that actually decide whether a tire is legal for your truck's weight.
| Size | Load Index | Speed | Load Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| LT285/55R20 | 122/119 | Q | F, 12-ply |
| 33x12.50R20LT | 119 | Q | F, 12-ply |
| 33x12.50R22LT | 114 | Q | F, 12-ply |
| 35x12.50R20LT | 125 | Q | F, 12-ply |
| 35x12.50R22LT | 121 | Q | F, 12-ply |
| 35x12.50R24LT | 116 | Q | F, 12-ply |
Two honest notes on the size list. There are no 17s or 18s, so if you are on smaller wheels this tire is not an option for you yet. And there are no 37s, so this is a 33 and 35 lineup. For live pricing on your size, check the product page rather than trusting a number in an article, because tire pricing moves.
The Snow Question, Answered Straight
The DMR R/T is not three peak mountain snowflake certified. It is marketed as all season, and it is not rated for severe winter conditions. If you live somewhere that gets real snow and you need a winter-certified tire, buy a tire that carries the 3PMSF symbol.
We could have buried that. Here is why we did not. An aggressive tread pattern looks like it should be great in snow, and plenty of them are not, because deep voids clear mud well and do very little for packed snow and ice. The 3PMSF symbol is the only reliable way to know a tire passed a severe snow traction test, and this one did not take it.
What that means practically. It handles cold weather and light snow like a capable all season light truck tire. It is not the answer for a truck that has to get up an unplowed hill in February. Plenty of people run R/Ts year round in snow country and accept the tradeoff knowingly. Do it knowingly.
What Is Actually In The Tread
- Stepped blocks The steps keep rocks from drilling down into the carcass, which is the failure that ends a lot of aggressive tires early. Stone ejection is unglamorous and it is what makes tread life real.
- Larger contact patch Built wider than typical for the category, aimed at a smoother and quieter ride than an R/T usually gives you.
- Built-up shoulder Does two jobs. It protects the sidewall and it is the part that photographs well under a fender.
- Logo between the blocks Not just branding. The lettering breaks up wind channels between tread blocks, which is where a lot of tire noise is generated.
- 18/32 inch tread depth Deep for the category. More rubber to wear through is the simplest form of tread life.
Those are design intents from the people who specified the tire, which is us. They are not independent test results, and there are no independent lab tests of this tire in existence. We are not going to pretend otherwise.
The Warranty
45,000 miles of treadwear coverage. For a Load Range F rugged terrain tire that is a real number, because plenty of tires in this category carry no mileage warranty at all. That is one of the genuine differences between a budget aggressive tire and a value one, and it is worth checking on anything you are comparing this against.
Some retailers also bundle road hazard protection alongside it. Confirm what is included with your specific order at checkout rather than assuming, since coverage can differ by where you buy.
Who This Tire Is For, And Who It Is Not
Buy It If
- You are on 20s or bigger The whole lineup starts at 20 inch. That is the first filter.
- You want the look without the M/T noise penalty That is the entire point of the rugged terrain category and this tire is built for it.
- You want a mileage warranty at this price point 45,000 miles on a Load Range F aggressive tire is not the norm.
- You haul or tow Load Range F, 12-ply construction, and load indices up to 125 give you real capacity.
Skip It If
- You need a 3PMSF winter tire This one is not certified. Not a judgment call, just a fact.
- You are on 17s or 18s No sizes for you yet.
- You want a 37 The lineup tops out at 35.
- You spend most of your miles in serious mud An R/T is a compromise by design. A true M/T self-cleans better.

What load range is the KelFire DMR R/T?
Load Range F, 12-ply, across every available size. Load indices run from 114 on the 33x12.50R22 up to 125 on the 35x12.50R20, and every size carries a Q speed rating good to 99 mph. Max inflation is 80 psi.
Is the KelFire DMR R/T 3PMSF rated?
No. The DMR R/T is not three peak mountain snowflake certified and is not rated for severe winter conditions. It is marketed as an all season rugged terrain tire. If you need a tire certified for severe snow, look for the 3PMSF symbol on the sidewall, because an aggressive tread pattern by itself does not indicate winter capability.
Does the KelFire DMR R/T have a mileage warranty?
Yes, 45,000 miles of treadwear coverage. That is notable for a Load Range F rugged terrain tire, since many tires in this category carry no mileage warranty at all. Some retailers bundle road hazard protection alongside it, so confirm exactly what is included with your order at checkout.
What sizes does the KelFire DMR R/T come in?
Six sizes, all 20 inch and larger: LT285/55R20, 33x12.50R20, 33x12.50R22, 35x12.50R20, 35x12.50R22, and 35x12.50R24. There are no 17 or 18 inch fitments and no 37 inch sizes, so the lineup covers 33s and 35s on 20 inch wheels and up.
What is the tread depth on a KelFire DMR R/T?
18/32 of an inch. That is deep for the category, since most all-terrain tires sit in the low teens. Combined with stepped tread blocks designed to eject stones rather than let them drill into the carcass, the depth is a big part of how the tire is meant to reach its 45,000 mile warranty.
Is the DMR R/T good for towing?
The construction supports it. Load Range F with 12-ply and an 80 psi max inflation is heavy duty, and load indices reach 125 depending on size. Check your specific size's load index against your truck's requirements and your loaded weight rather than assuming, since the index varies from 114 to 125 across the lineup.
