Nitto Ridge Grappler Review

November 21, 2019

The Nitto Ridge Grappler has been our best selling tire for a while now and we're here to tell you why everyone is loving it!

1. Design

Nitto Ridge Grappler

The Nitto Ridge Grappler is a hybrid tire but unlike a lot of the other hybrids, the Ridge Grappler is based off of an all-terrain tire rather than a mud tire. What does this mean? Well, since an all-terrain tire typically has smaller tread blocks and tread voids than a mud tire, they are a lot better for road use. This means that since the Ridge Grappler is based off of the all-terrain platform, it gives you the daily livability you need while still offering plenty of performance for off-roading on the weekends.

The tread voids on this tire are wider on the outside and get closer together as you look toward the inner part of the tread. This design is meant to give you plenty of voids to eject water and rocks from your tire using the outer voids, but keeping the inner parts closer together so you experience less road noise. The tread blocks on the Ridge Grappler are also smaller than the average hybrid or mud tire. This gets rid of that floaty feeling you get when your tires have larger tread blocks. If you live in an area that gets snow, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the performance of this tire in the snow as well.

If you're the person that drives their truck to work every day but like to take the weekend to hit the trails, the Nitto Ridge Grappler is perfect for you. Think of it as a jack of all trades but a master of none. Don't expect to break records at the drag strip or make it through a massive mud hole, but you can expect that it will be able to accommodate all of your needs from day-to-day errands to your weekend adventures and everything in between. There's a reason this tire is our most popular to date.

2. Sizing

One nice thing about the Nitto Ridge Grappler is that it's available in an absolutely insane amount of sizes. They'll fit wheels as small as 16 inches all the way up to 24 inches and have widths starting at 10 inches going up to 13.5. It's safe to say that there is probably a Nitto Ridge Grappler that fits your wheels and will give you the look you want.

3. Price

Being that Nitto is a name brand, you do tend to pay a little more for them. We typically see them being purchased for around $1200 but the price will vary depending on the size you get. This is a pretty amazing price for a name brand tire that can do it all. We'd also like to mention that it's not uncommon to see these tires reach 50,000 miles which is another reason people love this tire so much. It's easy to see why the Nitto Ridge Grappler is our most popular tire to date.
