Top 5 American Tires
March 5, 2020
1. Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac
The Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac is featured in a ton of our other blogs and top 5 lists.
This is one of our favorite tires.
The Duratrac is an absolute beast off-road. It has large tread blocks, stone ejectors, and plenty of siping.
However, it is important to note that this tire will be a bit louder than your typical AT or Hybrid tire.
This is due to the larger tread voids.
Noise aside, the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac is a phenomenal tire.
2. Yokohama Geolander MT
Yokohama is actually a Japanese based company but all of their Geolander tires are made in two factories in the United States.
The Geolander line is suitable for a wide variety of applications.
They offer AT, MT, and Hybrid tires so there will be one to suit your needs.
They all perform very well and we would recommend that you check the Yokohama Geolander MT out!
3. Nitto Ridge Grappler
This is another tire that we've covered a lot.
One of the main reasons we like this tire is because you can get so many miles out of it.
The Ridge Grappler is also designed all the way up to an F load and comes in a ton of sizes.
This tire gives you that mud tire look, but they have a lot more rubber contact for better traction and ride a lot quieter than your typical mud tire.
4. Cooper STT Pro Maxx
This is a tire that we don't have a ton of experience with yet.
However, the truck community has spoken and you guys seem to absolutely love this tire.
We will give you more information on the STT Pro Maxx as we get more experience with it.
Until then, definitely check them out because they seem to be hot right now!
5. Toyo Open Country RT
Toyo and Nitto are both Japanese based sister companies, however, their plants for truck tires are here in the United States.
This is a hybrid tire that features a lot of the same features as the Ridge Grappler, like stone ejectors.
The Open Country RT also has a wider tread on the outside and a tighter tread on the inside.
This helps you get the most mileage out of your tires while still having a lot of contact with the road.
There you have it, the top 5 truck tires that are made right here in the United States!
