Are LANDSPIDER Tires Good?
July 20, 2021
Every tire company started out as a young tire company at some point. Huge names in the enthusiast community like Mickey Thompson, Nitto, and Atturo had to prove how badass they were to earn that positive reputation. We’re on a mission to find those young, upcoming tire brands that are trying to scrap their way into the industry. So that brings us to the question of the day, are LANDSPIDER tires good?
Who Is LANDSPIDER?
First, a little background about LANDSPIDER. They’re designed and manufactured by Quingdao Landspider Tire Corp., LTD, and are made in Thailand. However, as of 2020, Qingdao Landspider Tire Corp., LTD is the formerly established headquarters, and Landspider Tire Inc. will be focused on the US market and be considered a “child company.” LANDSPIDER tires made their debut at SEMA, an automotive specialty products trade event that takes place annually in Las Vegas.
LANDSPIDER offers their WILDTRAXX and CITYTRAXX lineups, creating tires for a wide variety of trucks on and off the road. The five tire types offered include:
- all season
- all terrain
- mud terrain
What is the WILDTRAXX A/T?
This all-terrain tire is designed to take on tough road conditions. It’s got large tread blocks that have biting edges in order to maximize traction in any conditions. Its high-density siping helps clear out water on wet roads to give you that extra grip that will make you feel confident when you’re driving. Mud and loose soil isn’t a problem for this tire, as the claw-shaped design is meant to pick up and toss it with no problem while using the thick sidewall as protection from sharp rocks and debris.
The tread on this tire is reinforced with technology that helps with impact resistance, durability, and handling. The durable tread compound helps lengthen tread life, handle the stress of the terrain, and still deliver a comfortable ride.
What is the WildTRAXX M/T?
This mud tire features a bold, aggressive design that has large tread blocks ensuring more contact area. The blocks are angled, which helps with traction, lateral stability, and reduces some of that annoying road noise that is pretty common with a mud tire. Alternating concave and convex sipes on the blocks give extra grip on mud and loose soil, that also feature self-cleaning grooves that serve as stone ejectors.
Just like the WILDTRAXX A/T, this tire has a reinforced sidewall to protect the tire from being punctured by sharp objects that you might come across on the trail. The tear-resistant compound makes for great durability and longer tread life for any road conditions. This is one of the most popular-selling tires from LANDSPIDER due to its ability to get you out of sticky situations at a budget-friendly price.
What is the CITYTRAXX G/P?
This tire in the lineup is an all-season tire that is designed to perform well in dry, wet, and winter road conditions. Strong elements in the tread compound help with rubber flexibility in changing temperatures, making them act almost as a chameleon in either summer or winter conditions. The geometry of the grooves help with preventing hydroplaning. This is because it helps disperse water and slush to guarantee good traction in wet conditions.
Steering responsiveness and driving stability are enhanced with close, constant road contact and high-density siping helps create friction for the tire and the surface of the road. This helps with braking power and shorting braking distance. With minimized pressure on the tire during the drive, rolling resistance is lowered, which affects the fuel usage needed to maintain motion for your truck. Rolling resistance is the force resisting the motion when the tire rolls on a surface. Decreasing it will lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, making it an environmentally-friendly tire as well. Even pressure circulation in this tire also helps prevent irregular wear.
What is the CITYTRAXX H/P?
This tire is actually pretty similar to the CITYTRAXX H/P. It has almost similar features such as high-density siping, biting edges for traction, and rubber flexibility in changing temperatures. These features make this tire a good all-season tire choice as well, however, it has some features that make this a good high-performance tire option as well.
It has a ribbed pattern surface for boosted steering responsiveness and stability. The outer shoulder block pattern has siping with extra biting edges for better cornering abilities. It creates friction that results in a safer performing ability. The angled block patter helps prevent heat from building up during this friction process to help improve durability during high speeds.
What is the CITYTRAXX H/T?
This is LANDSPIDER’s highway tire. Like the other models in the CITYTRAXX lineup, this tire had performance and all-season features in mind during design. They focused on high-density siping in this tire as well to improve braking capabilities and grip during dry and wet conditions. It also has the same shoulder technology to deliver steering precision and stability during high speeds. A new feature of this tire is the multi-pitch optimized combination design that disperses noise, making for a quiet, comfortable ride.
The answer to the question is yes, we think the LANDSPIDER tires are good and have the potential to make a name for themselves in the automotive enthusiast community. They focus on creating safe, comfortable tires that are tailored to different needs. So no matter how you’re using your truck, you can find something for your build.
Since they are still a new company, their effort currently lies in consistently working on product innovation, so we’re excited to see where they go from here. Have you ever run LANDSPIDER tires on your setup before? If so, let us know in the comments what you think!
