Did you know...Fuel Off-Road was the most popular brand of 2021? Yeah, they're that good.
Where Are Fuel Wheels Made?
First, let’s take a closer look at the history of Fuel wheels, including where they’re made. Fuel was established in 2009 by MHT Luxury Alloys, which was founded in 1986. They’re located in southern California and house several popular wheels brands for trucks and cars, including Dub and Rotiform. Their experience has allowed them to offer the latest designs and functions from their engineers to produce high-quality wheels that look amazing and can handle the abuse of any environment.
Fuel Forged wheels are made in the USA at MHT Luxury Alloy’s shop in California. However, Fuel Off-Road wheels are made in China. They offer wheels that work for stock, lifted, dually, trophy, and off-road trucks. On top of that, they also offer a wide variety of wheels for UTV applications, just in case you want your side by side to match your truck. So, let’s look at some of Fuel’s best wheel lineups to see why they’re so good.
Are Fuel Maverick Wheels Good?
One of the best things about not just the Mavericks, but Fuel wheels in general, is that they are offered in a wide variety of diameters, widths, bolt patterns, and offsets. This means they’ll work on a ton of different kinds of setups, whether it’s your daily driver or your trophy show build.
The Fuel Maverick features a straight 8-spoke design with milled bolt accents around the outer rim lip. They have a clean style and are offered in gloss black, gloss red with milled spoke windows, matte black, black milled, and chrome finish options. To top it off, each wheel has a branded center cap to complete the look.
Besides looking sharp, they’re designed to handle conditions seen in either daily driving or off-road. Depending on the size, they have a 2,500-3,500lbs load rating. A common question is what they’re made of to make them so strong. The answer is that this wheel is a single-piece, aerospace-grade aluminum alloy wheel, making it a strong, yet lightweight wheel option.
Are Fuel Rebel Wheels Good?
Like the Maverick, Fuel Rebel wheels have the same, durable cast aluminum construction and are offered in popular bolt patterns for a wide range of compatibility for even more applications. So now that we’ve got even more proof that Fuel wheels were designed with strength in mind, let’s get into how good this lineup looks.
The Rebels are offered in finish options of matte black, matte gunmetal grey, and matte bronze. They feature a black simulated beadlock with a slick 6-spoke design and exposed lugs. It’s got a concaved face with a contoured lip, as the stepped edges on the spokes add for some depth as well.
Are Fuel Vapor Wheels Good?
The last wheel we’re going to touch on by Fuel is the Fuel Vapor. Out of the three mentioned, this is definitely the wheel with the most rugged appearance. It’s got a dual 6-spoke design and is one-piece cast aluminum construction with hidden lugs. They come in either a matte black finish or a black with machined spoke faces and a dark tint finish.
The Fuel Vapor is a great option if you’re trying to achieve that mean, aggressive look for your build. Again, like the other wheels by Fuel, the Vapor wheels are so versatile that they deliver what any type of truck owner is looking for.
Are Fuel Wheels Good?
Wheel fanatics love Fuel. So do we, they’re popular for a reason. They are constantly designing aggressive wheels that look badass and compliment all build types. With that in mind, the variety of diameters, widths, offsets, and bolt patterns make it possible for nearly everyone to find the perfect size for their truck. Their diameters range anywhere from 15” to 26”, and widths from 6.5” to 16”. Also, Fuel offers a Limited Lifetime Structural Warranty and a 1-year finish warranty.
Fuel does not cut corners when it comes to structural integrity either, as they push the message of ultimate strength while still being fairly lightweight. The only thing to mention is that they are more on the spendy side. So, while they have the means to be an off-road wheel, be aware that they scratch pretty easily so all the rocks and rough terrain might do some damage there.
