How do I know what tires fit my truck?

All you have to do is give us your YMM and we’ll show you what tires will give you the best fit. Custom Offsets offers tires to fit one of three categories — No Rub Fit, CO Choice, and Aggressive Fit.No Rub Fit means the tire size has been verified to fit your truck with zero rubbing at full lock and over bumps — no trimming, no modifications. We back it with real fitment data from thousands of builds in our gallery. CO Choice means that your tires will fit, but you may have to do some additional mods to avoid rubbing. Aggressive Fit is reserved for the widest tires in our store, and because of that, you’ll probably need to do some serious body work — otherwise, they will fit on the wheels that you have as long as we know what you’ve got.

How long should a set of truck tires last?

Quality truck tires run 40,000 to 70,000 miles depending on what you bought and how you treat them. A/Ts typically land in the 50K–60K range. M/Ts run shorter — around 30K–40K miles — because the aggressive tread will wear out much faster on pavement. Real-world mileage comes down to regular rotations (every 5,000 miles), proper PSI, alignment, and how heavy your right foot gets. The mileage warranty is your floor, not your ceiling. Skip rotations and run them low, and you’ll be shopping again way sooner than you planned.

What’s the difference between All-Terrain (AT), Mud-Terrain (MT) and Rugged-Terrain (RT) tires?

These tires are all great, but for different driving needs.All-Terrain (A/T) is the daily-driver answer. These tires offer tight tread blocks, quieter ride, longer tread life — usually 40,000–60,000 miles — and most modern A/Ts carry the 3PMSF symbol for real winter traction.Mud-Terrain (M/T) is the opposite. They’re characterized by huge lugs, wide tread voids, and reinforced sidewalls that are built to claw through mud, rock, and deep snow where an A/T won’t do as well. The cost, though, is a louder ride, shorter tread life (30,000–40,000), worse fuel economy, and weaker wet-pavement grip. That’s worth it if you’re hitting the trails but unnecessary otherwise.Rugged-Terrain (R/T) splits the difference between the two. Sometimes called a hybrid or aggressive A/T, R/T tires offer bigger lugs and sidewall bite than an A/T, and are more drivable than an M/T. They’re good picks if your truck sees real off-road use but still has to commute Monday morning without driving you crazy. As a rule of thumb, if you spend 80%+ of your time on pavement, A/T. If you go on dirt most weekends, M/T. If you can’t decide, R/T.

Does Custom Offsets offer free shipping on tires?

Yes. Every tire order ships free if you live in the lower 48 states, though you should keep in mind that we also have an Oversized Item Fee you’ll need to cover with a larger shipment — that will be disclosed when you check out. We also offer 0% APR financing through Affirm and lease-to-own through Katapult, so you can get the tires you need now and pay over time with no interest. These options make it easy for you to get the tires you want in a hurry.

How do I read a tire size? (Metric vs Standard)

Tire sizes come in two formats, and trucks see both.Metric looks like 275/65R20. The first number (275) is the tire’s width in millimeters. The second (65) is the aspect ratio, or the sidewall height as a percentage of the width. The R means radial construction. The last number (20) is the wheel diameter in inches. So a 275/65R20 is 275mm wide, with a sidewall 65% of that width, mounted on a 20” wheel.Standard (also called flotation or imperial) looks like 35×12.50R20. Way more straightforward — overall tire diameter in inches, section width in inches, wheel diameter in inches. A 35×12.50R20 is 35 inches tall, 12.5 inches wide, on a 20” wheel. Both systems work, but standard is easier when you’re shopping by height (“I want 35s”) — which is how most truck builders think. Metric is what you’ll see on factory tires and most passenger sizes.

Does Custom Offsets offer mounting and balancing?

Yes we do — when you order a wheel and tire package, we’ll handle the mounting and balancing work for free so that when they’re shipped, they’re all ready to be installed on your truck. Just pick the wheels and tires that you want and we’ll take care of the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Truck Tires

With all the focus on the cabin and performance, a truck's tires often end up being overlooked. But that's a mistake. Good tires are one of the best ways that you can improve your truck's capabilities in different terrain, enhance handling and get more out of your car on a daily basis. They're also more affordable than many other upgrades, helping to stretch your dollar out and get more out of the rest of your truck.

Especially if your existing tires are damaged or running out of tread, new truck tires can mean the difference between being able to get through that next all-terrain challenge or at the very least helping to prevent an accident if those old tires give out. And since you have to buy new tires anyway, why not opt for tires that can help you do more with your truck rather than those same OEM tires that don't really do much of anything well.

Even if you haven't noticed anything wrong with your current set of tires, that doesn't mean you won't benefit from new tires on that truck. New tires can give you more grip on the road and off, and that can mean a safer ride both out to the trail and out in the middle of nowhere.

If you're due for new truck tires, the worst thing that you can do is try to stretch out those stock tires until they give. If you manage to run them past the point of no return, you could end up risking injury in a blowout or another type of failure, not to mention the substandard grip you'll have in the rain or out on the trail, which could leave you stranded.

With new truck tires, you'll get more performance and efficiency out of your vehicle, and that can help you save money on fuel and reduce the chance of some kind of mishap while you're on the road. New truck tires also look great, representing a relatively affordable way to upgrade your truck's look without messing with the lines of your truck.
